Written and co-directed by Albert, Welcome to the World will have its world premiere at Cinema Diverse: Palm Springs LGBTQ Film Festival at Camelot Theatres. The film screens in the session Life Can Be Tough At Times in Camelot Theatre Two on Friday, September 22, at 11am.
Albert’s previous film The Commitment also had its world premiere at Cinema Diverse: Palm Springs LGBTQ Film Festival in 2012 and won an Audience Award for Best Short Series alongside Groom’s Cake and Little Ones.
Celebrating its tenth anniversary this year, the festival is a presentation of the Palm Springs Cultural Center and is dedicated to presenting the best in LGBTQ cinema. With the current gay and lesbian population in Palm Springs estimated to be about seven times the national average, a concentration even greater than that of San Francisco, Palm Springs is a fitting location for the premiere of Welcome to the World.
